Visual artist, in 2015 after a long search for formats and different contexts of visual development, between art direction, painting and embroidery, Lourdes Salgado started working with ceramic.
“Clay is a material that forces you to place yourself in a space and time that moves away between space and time of accelerated contemporary productivity and connects you with a slow, reflective and interior timelessness”
Under this understanding, i develop sculptural and utilitarian ceramic pieces, with abstract and figurative themes. She creates collections in these two directions, from an intuitive impetus, on a low production scale and from one-of-a-kind pieces.
My referential place is linked to the observation of the intimate space in a home, a home with its own identity and that does not refer to a specific time. In this context, I am attracted by the possibilities of linking design, art and illustration.
