My name is Natalia Phillips, I am from Costa Rica and I have been working with glass for the last 14 years.
In 2013 I founded Glassmateria Studio, my workshop, where I develop my personal expression with the technique of glass fusing and stained glass. Simultaneously, it works as s a collaborative space to share knowledge through workshops and courses. I see it as a laboratory that fills me with illusion and joy, a place where successful experiments result, and from the failed ones we learn and avoid repeating them in the next attempt. Since I was a child I have enjoyed creating; manual disciplines have a very special place in my creative process. Dots, lines, texture and the rhythm of elements as fundamentals of design are a vivid memory of the relationship with my maternal grandmother, we spent countless hours interpreting and making textile patterns.Â
