Design<\/span> | <\/span>Entre el 7 de febrero y el 9 de abril se celebrar\u00e1 Madrid Design Festival 2023. La sexta edici\u00f3n concentrar\u00e1 sus esfuerzos en reconocer la excelencia y trascendencia del trabajo de los dise\u00f1adores y en dar visibilidad a una disciplina que es fundamental para mejorar el d\u00eda a d\u00eda de las personas.<\/span><\/p>\n

MDF23 will showcase the work of a large number of creators today whose ideas are making a decisive contribution to developing new paradigms, and who draw from the ideas of some of the key figures in the history of design.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seville is the guest city of Madrid Design Festival 2023. It is a city that currently figures prominently in design with the work of designers and studios that are rethinking the cities of tomorrow through an exquisite blend of its unique artisan heritage and premium contemporary design techniques.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Seville – Illuminated Shadow<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

This exhibition will offer a survey of Sevillian design, from the most traditional languages to the city\u2019s avant-garde. It is a journey through the excellence of its crafts and the mastery of its trades, which survive and coexist today with the work of new designers.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a collective exhibition that speaks about the Earth and design as a tool for change to create a more sustainable, inhabitable world. Sustainability, circularity and eco-design aimed at lowering the ecological footprint are the core and the goal of its innovative materials and projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Madrid Mid-twentieth-century pottery and design <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

This exhibition seeks to showcase a seminal period in Madrid\u2019s modern culture in the mid-twentieth century, when young artists began to experiment with pottery and design in an effort to break down the artificial boundaries that had been raised among the different fine arts disciplines during the centuries of academicism.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.Ximo Roca. Mediterranean Design <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The National Decorative Arts Museum (MNAD), which is directly overseen by the Ministry of Culture, is presenting this exhibition devoted to Ximo Roca, an indisputable touchstone of Valencian design with a Mediterranean twist.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Pet Lamp, 10 years weaving stories<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

In commemoration of its tenth anniversary, PET Lamp , the project led by the Spanish designer \u00c1lvaro Catal\u00e1n de Oc\u00f3n , invites you to discover how design, combined with basketry and the reuse of plastic bottles, has been able to shed light on a global environmental reality: plastic waste.<\/span><\/p>\n

6.Bombay Sapphire – Saw this made this<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Bombay Sapphire will invite the public to redefine their way of looking at the world in order to extract creativity even from everyday life. A group of artists will display their works in the Saw This, Made This exhibition to show that beauty, inspiration and creativity are not concepts exclusively for museums or galleries, as the world itself is an art gallery writ large. In parallel, design and creativity challenges will be launched to communities of design students and professionals with this leitmotiv as reference.<\/span><\/p>\n

7-Ideas to the wind fan design in the 19th century<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The National Museum of Romanticism was created by the Marquis de la Vega-Incl\u00e1n, Benigno de la Vega-Incl\u00e1n y Flaquer, by donation to the State in 1921.It is located in a small palace built at the end of the 18th century that was also the headquarters of the Police Station Regia of Tourism at the beginning of the 20th century. Through its rooms, the museum recreates a 19th century bourgeois home, exhibiting its varied collections that include painting, sculpture, photography, furniture, weapons and, in addition, an important collection of fans.<\/span><\/p>\n

8.Water Contours<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

This installation encourages visitors to take a conscious journey through material, light and sound that evoke the feel of water and the importance of managing this resource sustainability in order to restore the balance of life <\/span>and the planet. Formica Group and the architect and designer Teresa Sapey have designed an interactive installation in the vestibule of Fern\u00e1n G\u00f3mez Centro Cultural de la Villa. The installation suggests that users take a journey \u2018underwater\u2019. Through material, light and sound, travellers can immerse themselves into a dreamlike experience which brings them closer to one of the most important elements that nature provides us: water.<\/span><\/p>\n
